The colour of light is expressed in Kelvin. So, we are actually talking about the colour temperature.

What are tangible examples of this colour temperature? At a high colour temperature, the light becomes bluer (cooler); at a low colour temperature, the light becomes yellower (warmer).
Below are some examples.
Candlelight | 1200K |
Sunrise | 2000K |
Sunrise after 1 hour | 3500K |
Daylight | 5000K |
Midday sun | 5700K |
Neutral white light | 6500K |
The colour temperature has a great influence on the atmosphere in the room. Warm light makes you calmer, while blue light increases concentration.
